Each funding formula uses specific data to determine federal allocation amounts. Below are specific data used in federal funding formulas. Please refer to program specific procedures for details of where and how these datasets are used in funding calculations.
Census data is supplied by U.S. Department of Education from the U.S. Census Bureau. This data contains both census population and census poverty data. The census datasets also include counts for students in delinquent and neglected facilities by district. Should an LEA have questions or want to challenge the Preliminary data, you may contact the Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE) Branch at the Census Bureau for further information 301-763-3193 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
