Social Studies Sample Review Units

Sample review units were created for Grade 8 United States History 1800-1900, United States History Since 1890, and World History Since 1450. These are sample reviews developed using the Inquiry Design Model (IDM). The reviews for each grade/course are intended to take no longer than 5-6 weeks.

C3 Resources

The following documents provide educators with information about the College, Career & Civic Life C3 Framework for Social Studies State Standards.  The C3 Teachers Website and all related resources, the Inquiry Design Model (IDM), the New York Toolkit Inquiries, and information on states’ inquiry hubs, are available at no cost. Although the 84 New York inquiries align with New York standards, they are downloadable in PDF or as Word documents and can be revised and aligned to Arkansas standards as needed. These inquiries are not intended to be comprehensive units of study; they serve as pedagogically rich examples of content and skills that are larger than a lesson but smaller than a unit.
