AR Tier 1 Mathematics Curriculum Grant

On July 14, 2020, the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) was awarded a $1.8 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation to support student-focused mathematics education in Arkansas. The Division will subgrant funds to eligible subgrantees for selection and implementation of Tier 1 Mathematics Curriculum (T1MC) in Arkansas Middle and High Schools that includes components outlined in the Request for Applications. 
The purpose of the grant is to award Local Education Agency (LEA) competitive subgrants to select and implement curriculum programs that support the AR Math QuEST goals to:
  • Provide access to high quality, rigorous curriculum and instruction for all students 
  • Promote equity and engagement of all students in meaningful mathematics learning experiences of reasoning and problem solving
  • Empower educators to help students develop positive identities as doers of mathematics to increase student achievement 
DESE requests applications from eligible LEAs for T1MC Grants for Middle and High Schools.
