STEP 4: Provide Continuous Training

What training can I provide?

A well-rounded data privacy program requires a strong infrastructure that includes proper technologies, policies, and training. In many organizations, training falls to the bottom of the priority list. It is not uncommon for employees who are responsible for handling sensitive information to be unaware of best practices involving data security. People cannot practice what they don't know; creating vulnerabilities. Data security involving your students and staff can be significantly increased through effective training practices.

Professional Development

ADE has partnered with ArkansasIDEAS to provide continuous & quality security awareness training to schools and districts. The following training modules can be accessed at

Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Classroom Resources

Teachers are encouraged to include students in the conversation. Preparing students is just as important as preparing our staff. For each module on ArkansasIDEAS, ADE has recommended a student-friendly video and poster that can be used to complement the campaign.
