Gifted & Talented Services
The following definition shall guide districts in providing services and opportunities for students identified as gifted and talented:
Gifted and talented children and youth are those of high potential or ability whose learning characteristics and educational needs require qualitatively differentiated educational experiences and/or services.
Possession of these talents and gifts, or the potential for their development, will be evidenced through an interaction of above average intellectual ability, task commitment and /or motivation, and creative ability.
2020-2021 Guidance for Gifted Education Programs
As schools prepare for the 2020-21 school year and make plans to ensure that learning continues throughout the year, regardless of the learning environment, one of the key indicators for student success is a student-focused approach. Administrators are encouraged to collaborate with gifted and talented (GT) coordinators to create explicit plans for how gifted learners' needs will be met throughout the year.
Districts are encouraged to refer to the Guidance for Gifted Education Programs.
