The coordinator of governmental affairs is responsible for representing the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) on legislative matters before the Arkansas General Assembly, the Governor’s Office, and staff or officials of state agencies and organizations. The coordinator manages the strategy and advocacy efforts of proposed legislation and provides bill review and analysis. The coordinator attends all education-related committee meetings and provides regular updates to the ADE commissioner, deputy commissioner, and the agency's leadership team. The coordinator ensures that ADE personnel are in attendance at legislative committee meetings as needed.
