The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education is offering an in-depth Digital Sandbox training for educators. Pick and choose from four sessions designed for users at any level.

The workshop will be held at the Robinson Conference Center. Guest rooms are available at the Courtyard Marriott, but there are no rooms remaining in the group block.


You must register individually for each session you wish to attend. Registration is free.

Digital Sandbox for Communications461616
Learn how to use Sandbox to better engage parents and the community at large in the goings-on in your district! In this session, we will explore how to Live Broadcast board meetings and district events to your own streaming channel. We will also discuss how to share media using our Showcase tool, as well as maintaining ADA compliance through our speech-to-text closed captioning solution. This session is geared towards school and district administration, communications departments, as well as public/media relations departments.

Digital Sandbox for Curriculum and Instruction461617
In this session, we will explore the Sandbox tools that are ideal for Curriculum and Instruction specialists, including SmartSpot and the Video Response System for delivering engaging professional development, as well as MediaSpot for sharing curriculum-based activities that teachers can use with their students. Also included in this session is a discussion of how to best manage and share content, files, and folders with teaching staff.

Ultimate Guide to the Digital Sandbox461618
Whether you are a novice or an experienced user of the Digital Sandbox, this full-day, hands-on session has something for everyone! We will start the day with the basics of uploading, searching, and sharing media. Next, we will explore our menu of creative tools before moving on to SmartSpot and the Video Response System to support instruction. We will wrap up the day with a fun dive into Live Broadcasting using your school's own live broadcasting channel.

In this session, we will explore using the Video Response System for potential candidates (new hires), the SmartSpot feature and Media Tracking tools for staff accountability in watching required district released videos (concussion protocol, spotting signs of Covid, etc.), and sharing files and folders with necessary staff. This session is geared towards members of Human Resources departments.

How to Prepare

Participants will need to bring a laptop to participate in the workshop.

COVID-19 Precautions

Due to the resurgence of COVID-19, we are taking precautions to keep everyone as safe as possible while still offering the training face-to-face. All participants are requested to wear a face covering even if you are vaccinated. Seating will be socially distanced six feet apart.
