Information Technology Services Unit

The Information Technology (IT) Services Unit is responsible for developing and maintaining reliable communications, data, hardware and software infrastructure within the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE), as well as for providing proper technical support to better enable ADE staff to meet its service delivery mandate.

The unit manages and supports all information technology within the ADE and is responsible for

  • maintaining the ADE computers;
  • maintaining the ADE computer network;
  • procuring and installing all IT equipment and systems;    
  • providing technical support to all ADE employees;
  • backup/recovery; and
  • system infrastructure.

The IT Services Unit supports the goals of ADE and its stakeholders to improve and to adhere to various laws, regulations, and policies; and to help ADE manage its risks. This is accomplished by enhancing and implementing a security strategic plan, policies, processes, and services to protect critical IT resources and sensitive information.
