Development of the AR State Plan: First Draft April 24, 2017

The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) believes every Arkansan is a stakeholder and has endeavored to collaborate with them in the development of the Vision for Excellence in Education and the Arkansas Accountability System. The first draft is now available. Please use to provide feedback and comments. A second draft will be posted on May 22, 2017.

Stakeholder engagement began in 2015 when the ADE began developing the Vision for Excellence in Education in Arkansas. The Vision for Excellence in Education coupled with the Arkansas Educational Support and Accountability system are primary levers that will enable Arkansas to achieve its Vision.

  1. Vision: The Arkansas Department of Education is transforming Arkansas to lead the nation in student-focused education.
  1. Mission: The Arkansas Department of Education provides leadership, support, and service to schools, districts, and communities so every student graduates prepared for college, career, and community engagement
