ATLAS Video Series: Using Data to Drive Instruction

Overview

Module 1:
Getting Started with Your Data

This video series introduces key parts of the Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System (ATLAS) for Grades 3–10. It covers how classroom, interim, and summative assessments work together to give a clear picture of student learning.

Educators will learn how to:

  • Use Summative Assessment Blueprints and Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs) to understand test design and student results.

  • Navigate the ATLAS Portal and access performance reports based on their role.

  • Use tools like the Longitudinal Report and Individual Student Reports (ISRs) to track progress and plan instruction.

  • Download and disaggregate data using Google Sheets to better target student needs.

  • Support student and family conversations with clear, growth-focused data.

This series gives teachers and leaders the tools they need to use ATLAS data effectively to support student learning and improve instruction.

Module 2:
Making the Most of Your Data

This video series shows how Arkansas educators use ATLAS assessments (Grades 3-10) to understand student progress and improve instruction. 

 

Topics covered include:

  • The role of interim and summative tests.

  • How to interpret student results using key tools like PLDs and ALDs.

  • Ways to find learning gaps and adjust teaching.

  • How to use student reports to engage families and support academic growth.

 

The series offers practical tools to help schools make the most of their data to support student success.

Module 3:
Leading with Your Data

This module is designed to support district and building leaders in effectively leading teaching and learning using ATLAS 3-10 data. 

District Leaders will be provided resources to:

  • Evaluate curriculum and instructional effectiveness across grades and subjects.

  • Understand the importance of accurate rostering for data reporting.

  • Navigate the ATLAS Reporting System and interpret key performance data.

  • Identify students in the bottom quartile and plan for targeted interventions.

  • Use ATLAS data to guide curriculum alignment and instructional planning to support learning outcomes for all learners.

  • Lead Data-Driven Conversations using ATLAS reports to identify trends, align instruction, allocate resources, and promote continuous improvement.
