Monitoring & Accreditation
The Standards for Accreditation set the foundational requirements for public schools and school districts across the state. These standards ensure that every school provides a high-quality, consistent education that meets the academic, safety, and operational needs of students and staff. By establishing clear expectations and best practices, the Standards for Accreditation uphold the integrity of Arkansas's educational system, fostering environments where students can thrive academically and schools can operate efficiently.
Accreditation Cycle
Districts will receive monthly Standards for Accreditation exception snapshots on the 21st of each month. Failure to address corrective actions may lead to citation monitoring. Findings from monitoring cycles could result in district citations brought before the State Board of Education throughout the school year. Final Accreditation statuses will be determined on May 1, 2025.
Contact an Accreditation Specialist
Each district is assigned an Accreditation Advisor and a Monitoring Specialist who provide direct support. Districts can find their assigned contacts, including email addresses and phone numbers, by logging in to the SFA tool. If you need assistance or are unsure who to contact, email us at ade.accreditation@ade.arkansas.gov, and we will connect you with the appropriate advisor or specialist.

Monitoring
The Monitoring and Accreditation Unit oversees district accreditation using the Standards for Accreditation tool. This process reviews compliance in academics, curriculum and instruction, operating policies and procedures, student support services, human capital, facilities, and transportation, in coordination with other DESE offices. The purpose is to ensure schools meet state requirements, provide guidance for improvement, and give families confidence that districts are supporting student learning and success.
