Addressing Unfinished Learning

In an effort to support educators in reopening schools during this unprecedented time, a task force was formed to create resources to support the reengagement of ALL students in the fall of 2020. This Statewide Guiding Coalition was formed in April 2020. The coalition, composed of administrators throughout the state who are currently practicing in a Professional Learning Community, have made a collective commitment to share, serve, and support ALL students in Arkansas through best practices. The guiding coalition in coordination with a group of practicing classroom educators throughout the state, are designing a playbook with model plans to address student learning.

The Statewide Guiding Coalition was originally formed as a response to addressing unfinished learning from the 2019-2020 school year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The coalition was focused and intentional in producing a product educators could use as needed to tackle unfinished learning. Outstanding educators throughout the state collaborated in a timely fashion and rolled out plans by the end of May. The positive response from educators across the state has led the Statewide Guiding Coalition to continue their work. Therefore, the Statewide Guiding Coalition has updated their mission, vision, and goals shown below as of September 2, 2020. Click here to read more about the Playbook and the original mission, vision, and goals.
