College & Career Readiness Assessments

College and Career Readiness Assessments (CCRAs) are standardized tests designed to measure students' preparedness for postsecondary education and the workforce. These assessments evaluate essential skills in core subjects such as math, reading, writing, and science, while also assessing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Types of College and Career Readiness Assessments:

  1. ACT (American College Testing): A widely recognized test that assesses high school students' academic readiness for college. It covers English, math, reading, and science, with an optional writing section.

  2. PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test): A preparatory test for the SAT that also serves as a qualifier for National Merit Scholarships.

  3. WorkKeys: An assessment that measures real-world skills relevant to workplace success, leading to the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).

  4. Arkansas Civics Exam: This is a state-specific assessment that is administered and is an Arkansas High School Graduation requirement.
