2025-26 Subject and Geographical Shortage Area Test Fee Reimbursement

 

For teachers employed in Arkansas public schools or charter schools, licensure test fee reimbursements are available from the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) under the following two options: 
 
1. SUBJECT SHORTAGE AREA (statewide) - Teachers who received a standard (5-year) license or endorsement in a subject shortage area from JULY 1, 2025, to JUNE 30, 2026. 

  • Foreign Language (K-12) (any) 

  • Middle School Mathematics (4-8) 

  • Middle School Science (4-8) 

  • Secondary Mathematics (7-12) 

  • Secondary Science (7-12 Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics) 

  • Special Education (all grades) 

  •  

2. GEOGRAPHIC SHORTAGE DISTRICT(High Need Geographic Shortage Districts)- Teachers who teach in a public school/charter school identified in the High Need (highlighted in red) geographic shortage list during the 2025-2026 academic year and earned a standard (5-year) license or license endorsement from JULY 1, 2025, to JUNE 30, 2026. Exception area endorsementsare not eligible for this funding. 
 
Reimbursements are subject to funding availability. If you have already been reimbursed for this test, please do not apply for this funding.
