Professional Development Requirements for Licensed Teachers

Required on a 5-year rotation

The following professional development (PD) trainings are required for all licensed educators in Arkansas and must be completed once every five years as part of the licensure renewal cycle.

Mandated Reporters

Ark. Code § 6-61-133 2 hours

Recognize signs of child maltreatment and understand your legal responsibility to report suspected abuse or neglect.

Mental Health Awareness

Ark. Code § 6-17-708 2 hours

Identify early warning signs of mental health concerns and promote supportive classroom environments and interventions.

Teen Suicide Awareness & Prevention

Ark. Code § 6-17-708 2 hours

Recognize suicide risk, respond appropriately, and connect students with mental health supports and services.

Bullying Prevention

Ark. Code § 6-17-711 2 hours

Understand school and personnel responsibilities for preventing, reporting, and responding to bullying; foster safe learning environments.
