Subject and Geographical Shortage Area Test Fee Reimbursement

For teachers employed in Arkansas public schools or charter schools, licensure test fee reimbursements are available from the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) under the following three options:

  1. SUBJECT SHORTAGE AREA - Teachers who received a standard license or endorsement in a subject shortage area from AUGUST 1, 2023, to JULY 31, 2024
  2. GEOGRAPHIC SHORTAGE DISTRICT - Teachers who teach in a public school/charter school identified in the Tier 1 priority level for geographic shortages during the current academic year and earned a standard license or license endorsement from AUGUST 1, 2023, to JULY 31, 2024.
  3. SUBJECT SHORTAGE AREA FOR YOUR GEOGRAPHIC REGION - Teachers who earned a standard license or endorsement from AUGUST 1, 2023, to JULY 31, 2024, in a subject area that has been identified as a shortage area for the region in which they teach; co-op regions and the subject shortage areas identified for each are listed here.
Reimbursements are subject to funding availability. If you have already been reimbursed by your district or other entity, please do not apply for this funding.
