Information for Registrars
How to mark your students as "Not Applicable" for the Civics Exam.
Marking "Not Applicable" information: Some districts thought that all students who participate in the alternate assessment are automatically excluded from the Civics Exam requirement. That is not the case. The AR Civics Exam Policy Document states that, “A student may be excluded based on their IEP if the IEP team determines there are not sufficient accommodations for the student to access the assessment.” If an IEP team makes this determination, the decision must be documented on the IEP. The decision could be documented in the Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance (PLAAFP) section. Once the information is documented on the student’s IEP, NA will need to be indicated in Moodle. Instructions for documenting may be found here.

How to Submit Roster Information
Each district will assign a Civics Exam Coordinator for each 9-12 building where the exam will be administered. Once identified by the district, the coordinator will receive information on how to register students in the online system.
