According to Arkansas Act 637 of 2023, public schools are required to provide one (1) hour of adoption awareness instruction to students enrolled in grades six through twelve (6–12). The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), in collaboration with the Gladney Center for Adoption, has developed grade-level course content to assist school districts in meeting the adoption awareness education requirement. A lesson plan has been created for each course to promote interactive adoption education instruction in the classroom setting.
