Child Maltreatment Posters

Act 379 of 2017 requires public schools and open-enrollment charter schools to post the child abuse hotline telephone number (Ark. Code Ann. § 6-18-712). “Each public school and open-enrollment charter school shall post a sign that contains the toll-free telephone number for the Child Abuse Hotline established by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Arkansas State Police under § 12-18-301.”

The sign shall meet the following requirements:

  •  Placed in a clearly visible location in the school
  •  Placed in an area readily accessible to students
  •  Posted in English and in Spanish
  •  Posted in a clear, simple, and understandable language for students to understand
  •  Posted in male and female restroom for private access for students
  •  Poster must be at least eleven (11) inches by seventeen (17) inches in size
  •  Maltreatment hotline number (1-800-482-5964)
