Science Professional Development

As part of the STEM Unit’s vision to transform Arkansas to lead the nation in student-focused and career-minded science and engineering education, the state science team developed the Grasping Phenomenal Science (GPS) Professional Learning System. GPS is composed of multiple sessions that model hands-on, student-focused science instruction. GPS continues to grow and develop to meet the needs of our students at all grade levels. DESE-funded Science Specialists located across the state provide GPS professional learning opportunities and school-based instructional coaching.
