Arkansas Brain Injury School Support Program

The Arkansas Brain Injury School Support Program serves all 75 counties in Arkansas. The mission is to promote positive outcomes for students with brain injury, acquired or traumatic, by providing leadership, support, and service to students with brain injury, their families, and the districts who serve them. The Arkansas Brain Injury School Support Program is dedicated to building cohesion among state agencies to improve coordination and communication between the medical and educational systems of care. The Educational Support and Related Service Specialists (ESRSS) are located in all regions of the state. 

Services We Provide 

Services are provided through a tiered system of support, which includes professional learning, online resources, and consultation. 

General Assistance

  • Collaboration with state agencies including hospitals, clinics, community providers, and university programs to improve coordination of services for students with neurodiversity

  • Professional learning opportunities

  • Web-based resources including access to professional learning videos and tools to help with educational programming


Targeted Technical Assistance

  • Targeted services focus on district capacity and sustainability to support students with disabilities to address meaningful access for all students.

Intensive Supports

  • ESRSS provides consultation and technical assistance to assist IEP teams in supporting individual student needs. Intensive student level support is accessible through the Centralized Intake and Referral/Consultant Unified Intervention Team (CIRCUIT).
