Children and Youth with Sensory Impairments and Additional Disabilities

Welcome to the Arkansas CAYSI Project

What We Do

The CAYSI Project serves Arkansas children from birth through age 21 who are deafblind, or at risk for deafblindness, and seeks to support the child, their families, and the professionals who work with them. CAYSI supports the philosophy of meaningful access for children with deafblindness across educational, vocational, recreational, and community environments.

Census Information

CAYSI maintains the federally required census for the National Deaf-blind registry. The National Deaf-blind registry assists the US Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) in supporting students with dual sensory impairments and other disabilities. The required census form for the December 1 Child Count is completed annually by a district’s Special Education Supervisor or appropriate professional.
